Frequently Asked Questions
What is FwdJob? +
A referral network that connects recruiters to job seekers through trusted connections. No job boards, no cold outreach.
How does it work? +
A recruiter sends a job to your @fwdjob.com email and the system automatically distributes it to matching candidates in your network.
What's an @fwdjob.com email? +
An additional address that acts as your network's front door for job opportunities. Recruiters and agencies send postings to it. You keep your personal email — nothing changes there. The @fwdjob.com address is just an extra channel that feeds jobs into your network.
Do I have to give up my personal email? +
No. Your personal email stays exactly as it is. You don't need to replace it anywhere. The @fwdjob.com address is optional and additive — share it with recruiters when you want their postings to reach your network. Jobs you receive directly on your personal email are yours as always.
I'm looking for a job. How do jobs reach me? +
Jobs from recruiters you invited reach you first — and only you, unless they don't match your keywords. You also receive jobs from recruiters invited by others in your network. The bigger your network, the more opportunities find you. You control what reaches you through your keyword settings — only jobs matching your skills show up in your inbox.
I'm not looking right now. Why should I join? +
You earn referral fees when someone in your network gets hired through a job that flowed through you. Passive income from your connections.
What if I invite someone with the same skills — won't they compete with me? +
A job goes to all matching candidates in the network, not just one. You don't lose access to a job by having someone else in your network who also matches. The difference is: if they get hired through that job, you earn a referral fee because it flowed through you. Without FwdJob, that recruiter might have reached them anyway — now you get paid for it. The best strategy is to invite people with adjacent or overlapping skills: you all see more jobs, and anyone who gets hired puts money in your pocket.
Will I get spammed with irrelevant jobs? +
No. You set keywords that match your skills (e.g. "react", "node.js", "aws"). Only jobs containing those keywords land in your inbox. You can also set required keywords (must all be present) and refuse keywords (auto-skip). An FPGA job will never reach a JavaScript developer. If you're not looking, jobs simply flow through you to the rest of the network — you won't even see them.
Does the recruiter know who I forwarded the job to? +
No. The recruiter sends one email and the system handles distribution. They don't see the network structure or who received the job. Candidates who are interested contact the recruiter directly with their own credentials.
How do referral fees work? +
When a candidate accepts an offer, the fee set by the provider is split among everyone in the referral chain who helped route the job to them. Each person in the chain keeps half of the remaining fee and passes the other half onward. The closer you are to the provider, the larger your share.
What does "Accept Offer" do? +
It means you've signed the contract for the job. It signals the system to contact the provider for collecting the referral fee and distribute it among everyone in the referral chain.
Can I reply to a provider about a job through FwdJob? +
No. FwdJob handles job distribution and fee tracking. The matched job posting is sent to your personal email address, and the provider's email is shown on the job detail page so you can reach out directly.
What happens if the same job is forwarded multiple times? +
The system detects duplicates by subject. If a job already exists, it won't create a new posting and the sender is notified.
Can I still forward jobs manually? +
Yes. Forward any job posting you receive elsewhere to your @fwdjob.com address and it enters the system just the same.
How is this different from LinkedIn? +
LinkedIn is a public profile directory — recruiters blast job posts to thousands of strangers. FwdJob is a private referral network. Jobs flow through people who actually know each other, every node in the chain has skin in the game through referral fees, and candidates only see roles that match their keywords. No noise, no spam, no algorithmic feed.
Can I import my LinkedIn contacts? +
Yes. Export your connections from LinkedIn as a CSV file, then upload it from your Invitations page. The system will show you a preview so you can pick which contacts to invite.
How do I grow my network? +
Invite friends, colleagues, and recruiters. More people connected means more job flow and more earning potential for everyone.
What if FwdJob goes down? Do I lose access to my recruiters? +
No. FwdJob is an additional channel, not a replacement. Your personal email, your LinkedIn, your direct recruiter relationships — all of that stays untouched. If the platform were ever unavailable, your existing contacts still reach you directly. FwdJob adds reach, it doesn't take anything away.
Who benefits most from joining? +
Everyone benefits differently. If you're actively looking, you get access to jobs from every recruiter in the network — not just the ones you know personally. If you're not looking, jobs flow through you to others and you earn referral fees when someone gets hired. If you're a recruiter, one email reaches a pre-filtered network of relevant candidates through trusted referrals instead of blasting job boards.
